The Rockies Challenge Stage is where players begin to test themselves in a more competitive environment while continuing to develop the technical, tactical, physical, and mental foundations needed for long-term success.

Whether a player is transitioning from our Explore stage, joining the club for the first time, or striving to compete at higher levels, Challenge provides an environment where every player can continue to learn, improve, and enjoy the game.

Through participation in CMSA League Play, players compete against clubs from across Calgary while developing within a player-centred environment focused on individual growth, teamwork, resilience, and a lifelong love of soccer.

U10–U13 Finding the Right Challenge

At Rockies, we recognize that every player’s journey is different. Some are ready to pursue higher-performance opportunities, while others continue to develop through club-focused or recreational pathways. All are valued, and all have opportunities to grow.

Performance Pathway

AFC and Albion teams for the boys and Energie teams for the girls. Every FC, Albion, Energie team will have a Head Coach who holds a minimum of a Canada Soccer C Licence/Diploma (or higher)

For players demonstrating advanced technical ability, strong commitment, and a desire to compete in the club’s highest-level teams.

Club Lite provides an excellent environment for players who are new to soccer, multi-sport athletes, or those seeking a lower weekly commitment while continuing to improve.

Open Roster Opportunities

From U10 to U13, Canada Soccer is encouraging Clubs to use Open Rosters as a developmental tool.  In short, while your player might be assigned to a team, they are allowed to play “up and down” for any other team of the same gender in the age group.

This is tool as a developmental tool to ensure that our teams and our the individual players have meaningful games at all times.
